The simple answer is there is no simple answer. People quit for all kinds of reasons. It could because of another opportunity that’s shining brighter at the time. It might be because of health, family or financial challenges. The point is it rarely has anything to do with the company or the products. Most of the time it’s just the person’s own personal decision that they are entitled to.
The first thing you should do if your upline quits
The very first thing you should do if your upline quits, is to get your mind right. Protect yourself from the onslaught of negativity that will try to seize your brain and get FOCUSED. If their decision shook your faith in the company than do your due diligence. Ask the right questions to the right people. Once you’ve settled the issue about your company and it’s future, you can forgive your upline for making a decision that has absolutely nothing to do with you. Instead of dragging their name through the mud, you can begin to feel grateful for the day they introduced you to your company and an amazing opportunity to build a freedom lifestyle business. That one simple mindset shift just empowered you to go on to become a leader and not a helpless victim.
These next 5 strategies are going to empower you to take the bull by the horn and build your business like a boss:
#1. CONTROL: Take control of your lead generation process. Don’t sit back and passively prospect passersbyers at the mall. You need to generate your own quality targeted leads. Don’t depend on your upline or anyone else to throw you leads. This is one of the very first things that I learned. Leads are the lifeblood of your business. Without a solid lead generation strategy in place that generates qualified leads for your business, you really don’t have a business. This is an invaluable skillset that top leaders have mastered, and you can too. Not having an upline in place is NO EXCUSE for you not to master lead generation.
#2. CONTINUED EDUCATION: Make a commitment to develop the skills you need to win big. Success in your business is not just tied to your company and your upline. Success in your business depends on YOU. If you really take your home business seriously you will build it using a strategy. You won’t just settle for throwing spaghetti on the wall, hoping something sticks, just to have the whole thing backfire because you didn’t invest the time to master your craft.
#3. COMMUNITY: Don’t underestimate the power of community. Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert building a home based business and chasing your dreams can get lonely sometimes. There’s nothing like a community of like minded entrepreneurs who are on the same path that can share trade secrets and encourage you. I’ve seen many a lone ranger give up and quit because they didn’t have the right kind of support. Sure your friends and family can be there for you, but there’s nothing like fellow home business owners that “get it”.
#4. CONSISTENCY: Learn early on the difference between income producing activities and non income producing activities. You need to do both on a daily basis. However, creating a roadmap or a Daily Method of Operation (DOM), will help you to consistently take the right actions that will build your business.
#5. COMMITMENT: At the end of the day, we can’t control whether or not our upline quits. We can’t control the actions of others. However, we can make a commitment to ourselves to not quit before we win. If you will do that, along with the other strategies I’ve listed above, you will stand a really good chance of finding that freedom that you so enthusiastically sign up for.
Remember why you joined in the first place. Maybe you wanted to be independent. You wanted that freedom that doesn’t come with a boss. Realize that your upline got you started, introduced you to a better way, and opened your eyes to the possibilities. Your upline actually fulfilled their purpose in your life and business. At the end of the day, YOU are responsible for your own results.
So what if they quit. You can adapt. Their quitting is NO EXCUSE for you not to win BIG.
Take the bull by the horn.
FOCUS on your goals and not your limitations or even your current situation for that matter.
Take the time to write down what you really want and why you want it.
Then take consistent daily ACTION to achieve those goals.
Set realistic (BIG) expectations and know that stumbling blocks (like your upline quitting) might come along the way.
Know that YOU CAN and YOU WILL get over it. Why? Because SUCCESS is standing there winking at you on the other side.
